Coming Soon! To Catch a Fox
UPDATE, 10/10/16: JUST RELEASED. I've decided to publish this book under my pen-name Claire Kane, since it stars a grown woman, although it is still a PG clean read.
Here's the new cover:

About:
Maycee Fox is fed up with dating vain men! They'd rather study their reflections in spoons than spend quality time with her. Being stuck in a secret society of foxes who can shape shift into drop-dead gorgeous people isn't helping matters either. She needs out. When her ex dares her to find love with an Average Joe, she's ready to sink her canines into the challenge, if only to teach him a lesson. But when she stumbles upon Adam Lanning, a humble yet sexy mechanic, it's Maycee who's in for a lesson or two about vanity and true love.

New Release Alert. A Grave Situation is just 99 cents!
About the book: Always up for adventure, Zoey and Claire Kane visit a castle hosted by a self-proclaimed Count Dracula. Even better, next door lies a cemetery haunted for a hundred years by Isobel Myer, a heartbroken bride who floats through the tombstones at night in a tattered wedding dress. But soon cats are found buried in a grave, drained of their blood. Fear also shakes the community when a young woman is discovered with a stake in her heart. The Kanes are determined to solve the mystery, even if that means stalking loonies, goonies, and things that go suck in the night

New Release Alert: Legend of The Lost, a Z&C Mystery
It feels like forever since I've released a book, even though To Date a Werewolf came out in February. As some of you may know, I write mysteries with my mother. Like my teen fiction, my mysteries are very humorous, very lighthearted. Last night I hit the "Publish" button at Amazon.com for Legend of The Lost. This may be my favorite mystery of ours. It kicks off right in the middle of a private plane crash-landing, so the ladies have to make a jump for it into the Arizona desert.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
It was supposed to be a relaxing vacation to California. Instead, Zoey and Claire take an unexpected detour when their private plane crash-lands into Arizona’s mysterious Superstition Mountains. Taken in by a dude ranch where everyone and their grandma is obsessed with the fortune of The Lost Dutchman’s Mine, romance with handsome, ropin’ cowboys becomes a top priority. The last thing on their minds is murder. But as Daniel Walks-With-Secrets, heartthrob captain of the sheriff’s department, warns, “Greed is a recipe for bloody misfortune.” With a stubborn resilience that only a mother-daughter relationship can summon, the ladies are fixin’ to find the culprits… and the treasure.

What I'm Up To... An Author Blog Hop
I've been tagged by Jennifer Lynn Alvarez, author of the
middle-grade Guardian Herd Series, starring flying horses (How cool is that?)!
Click her name to see her answers to these same questions.
What are you working on? I'm working on Legend of The Lost, a Zoey and Claire Mystery, Book #4. I have twelve more pages to polish up before it goes to the line editor! In case you didn't know, I also write under Claire Kane. There are three mysteries out so far: The Riddles of Hillgate, Cruise to Murder, and Hexes and X's. Although the books star grown adults, a mother and daughter, the stories are clean enough for any age to enjoy. If you enjoy my Molly Snow stories, then you may enjoy my Claire Kane mysteries, since they have some similar silliness.
I'm simultaneously working on To Catch a Fox, a third story
in my shifter series... although I'm still in the first chapter. I have a cover
made, though, and that's always good for motivation! I'm very excited to see
how this series will do once advertised.
How does your work
differ from others in its genre? I started writing paranormal stories a
long, long time ago. I haven't really been a reader of paranormal stories,
either, so perhaps this is a reason why quite a few reviewers say my stories
are fresh. I don't feel obligated to go by classic rules of the genre. For
instance, my zombies can look good for a long time, because of a preservative
released into their body once turned. My werewolves can cure zombies of their
condition. The black cat in BeSwitched can switch bodies with lonely souls. So
whatever I think sounds fun, I do.
Why do you write what
you write? I write what excites me. I like to think of my writing as a
business, but there is one thing I will never do to get ahead--write something
that's not really me. I know there are other genres that could make me so much
more money, but I have to stay true to my interests. My stories have plenty of
comedy. I just can't help
myself when it comes to humor--it has to be an integral part of my storytelling
or I won't have fun in the process.
Describe your writing
process? It depends on the story, but I try and have some sort of outline
before I start. The least I should know is what's
my main characters' greatest desire and greatest weakness? Next, what's the obstacle holding them back from
reaching their goal, and what's the
worst thing that can happen to them--some sort of moment of crisis.
For example, in Head
Over Halo, an angel, Persephone, has two great desires--to learn to sing,
and to be with a mortal guy, who happens to be a singer. Her greatest obstacles
are, she's an angel with a voice that destroys things, and since she's an not
mortal it's against the laws of heaven to be with one. You'll have to read the
story to find out her moment of crisis, but the way it unfolds is a lot of fun.

The author, Brandon Hale, is also a good friend of mine. He's always been very professional yet playful in his dealings with others. Recently he was diagnosed with colon cancer, and it's shaken up his and his wife's world. He's dealt with the news with a lot of strength and grace, and has retained his wonderful sense of humor. Check out this recent news on his blog: http://booksfromhale.com/update-on-brandon-hales-cancer-situation/

New Release! To Date a Werewolf
I'm excited to announce my latest release! To Date a Werewolf is the spin-off novel of To Kiss a Werewolf, starring one of the supporting characters, Maggie. Let me tell you, it was a ball writing from her perspective. She is so spunky and sarcastic and just plain fun. I would say it's a YA book, but a bit on the older side of the spectrum. Still, there's no foul language or sex.
About the book:
Maggie’s young,
flirty and extra curvy, but she has a teensy-weensy problem. She’s a zombie. Costly
manicures and wigs won’t always hide the fact that she’s decomposing at an
increasingly rapid rate, either. She needs a cure. Like now. And a werewolf’s
true-love kiss is the only solution. The trouble? Getting a first date, when
zombies are werewolves’ sworn enemies.
It's currently $3.99

A New Title and Cover. Revamping a Book's Look.
Sometimes you just gotta revamp a book's look.
^^This is the new look for FALLEN ANGEL, now titled HEAD OVER HALO. Fallen Angel was getting a lot of returns through Amazon.com, meaning people would purchase it, then get a refund. I was stumped as to why this was so, since this is one of my books I'm most proud of. The plot flowed for me, it was professionally edited, beta readers gave me really great feedback, and I just knew I'd find readers who'd really relate to the adorable main character Persephone and her mishaps.
But sales were saying the opposite.
So I went to my online writers group, and was assured the story was great, but the title and the cover picture wasn't as fitting as it could be. People who were viewing Fallen Angel were also viewing erotica, and so that was telling. People probably thought it was about a sweet girl gone bad. So, my goal was to give the story a new name and cover, which would also go well with my branding.
And this is what I came up with... (Technically, I have to thank my writer friend K.S. Haigwood for the title. Thanks!)
Here's the OLD cover to compare:
What do you think of the new one??

My witchy trick that inspired a scene in BeSwitched Witch!
Apparently, I'm not able to do my trick as well as I used to. Does that mean I'm not as witchy now that I'm all grown up ;)

Just Released on Amazon! TO KISS A WEREWOLF
As president of Paranormal Addicts Anonymous, Stella’s got no time for popular guys. Especially the surfers who hang at Shoreline’s beach—they think flashing a sand-sprinkled, tanned chest is enough to get any girl. But when surfer-hunk Damien Capernalli crashes Stella’s PAA fieldtrip to a haunted bed and breakfast, it may be time to rethink her priorities.
...And what’s with that wolfish gleam in Damien's eye?
What some Goodreads users have to say:
“To Kiss A Werewolf' was a fun read, full of surprises!” —Tracy
“A fresh take on almost everything para-related.” —Kirsten
“Highly recommend for young adults and adults that enjoy an interesting, well written story.” —Jane

My other pen name--Claire Kane of Z&C Mysteries
Hi, everyone! You most likely know about me because of the BeSwitched series. I've also written a couple other YA quirky romances, BUT what I want to share with you today is my mystery series! I'm coming out in the open now as Claire Kane of Z&C Mysteries.Z&C Mysteries star a mother and daughter, Zoey and Claire, who are amateur sleuths. Trouble just seems to follow them wherever they go! You know the type. They just happen to stumble upon major mysteries :) But this duo is ready for any surprise, even if that means they have to beat up bad guys while wearing their favorite high heels. Zoey and Claire also balance each other out. Zoey, the mother, is more wild and at times more gutsy. Claire has a keen eye for analyzing anything out of place, is more patient and calculating.
Something very important to know, if you are going to delve into this series, is they can get into some pretty outrageous situations, and there's a healthy dose of comedy. If you've read any of my YA books, you know what I mean about silliness. Some people are more into absolutely serious or dark mysteries; these aren't those mysteries.I feel comfortable coming out in the open, here on my page that mostly advertises my YA books, because Z&C Mysteries is a clean mystery series! So these are rated PG. If you're like me, you enjoy cleaner stories that are filled with fast-paced fun. This doesn't mean Zoey and Claire don't date--they love men (unless they're talking about their exes)! And they don't have a certain "type." So, the little bits of romance thrown in are just some added, clean fun.
Oh, oh, oh! I can't forget to also let you know the funnest part of all this! I co-write this series with my mother! You can see how we thought up the mother-daughter team :) And there are bits of each character that are true to life, when it comes to us. My mom is glamorous and has led a more wild life than me, for instance. I'm very business-minded like Claire. By the time my mom and I finish one of our adventures, we feel like we really just went through it together. It's a fun experience for the two of us. We also decided to use the characters' names as our pen names, so that explains that little anomaly. Anywho, check these stories out--they're plenty fun.
The Riddles of Hillgate is on sale at Amazon for 99 cents. Each story has a stand-alone plot.
